IN LOVING MEMORY OF ROBERT (BOB) HENRY CALVIN SR. Born: May 16, 1948 in Glendale, CA. Passed: January 30, 2017 in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Bob, aged 68, died peacefully after battling complications arisen from dementia.
Growing up in Southern California, Bob graduated from Covina High School in Covina, CA before enlisting in the Navy in 1967. There he served 4 years, completing a tour on the USS Tripoli during Vietnam, managing to the ships boiler feedwater systems. Fresh cinnamon rolls were expected daily while in his boiler room, otherwise the kitchen's hot water would mysteriously turn off.
Bob moved to Lake Havasu in late 1984, where he had previously vacationed with his Aunt Marge and Uncle Dick. He worked as an engineer at the Mohave Power Station before getting into Real Estate in Lake Havasu- specializing in Commercial and attaining his CCIM designation.
You could often find Bob on the lake fishing the reeds, or in Steamboat Cove relaxing on the weekend. He was active in many community functions, including a stint as the President of the local Little League. Bob loved to travel and was an avid deep sea fisherman. He was a tinkerer, a thinker, a rock, a hard head, a teaser, and a pleaser. Unabashedly neat, he was meticulous, smart, gregarious, and generous. He was tremendously loved and he will be missed.
Bob is survived by his wife Candie; his son Robert Jr. (Danielle); his daughters Janee, Julie; his step children Ashlee (Steve), Dusty (Wendy), Zach, and Chase; his sister Cathy (Rick step-brother); his brother John (Laurie); his step brothers Chris (Janet), Larry (Jacki); and grandchildren Natalie, Robert III, Carson, Camryn, Colt, Crue.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack W Calvin; his mother, Barbara J Riedel; and his step mother, Lucille Stanfield.
A funeral service will take place at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, at 10am. Donations to Hospice of Havasu are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
