Donald Alexander Wright passed away in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on January 14, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born to Issac and Evie (Randolph) Wright on March 25, 1931 in Fox, Oklahoma.
Don met Christine Tackett in high school and it was love at first sight. He declared he was going to marry that girl and he was right. They were high school sweethearts and were married October 4, 1952. They shared 64 years together. After they were married Don served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his service he worked in the oil fields of Oklahoma until they relocated to Lake Havasu City in 1964 where he went to work for McCulloch Corporation until he retired. During this time he piloted the SS Holiday on many excursions for Mr. McCulloch. He saw the bridge go up and many changes throughout the years in Havasu. He enjoyed fishing and boating, and was a avid sports fan who loved his Diamond Backs and Cardinals. He had a heart for God and loved his church. His children and grandchildren were his joy and he loved spending time with family.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; Issac and Evie Wright, his son; Nick Wright; daughter-in-law; Pina Wright, son-in-law; Terry Caley, brothers; Martin and Bill, and his sister; Myrtle, Jo, and Maudie.
He is survived by his by his loving wife; Christine Wright, daughter; Donna Caley, brothers; Eddie and Danny, sisters; Sonia, Patsy and Myrna; grandchildren, Christopher, Donald, Keysha, and Monique; great-grandchildren, Tara, Jaden, Jacob, Clayton, and Nicky.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Gods Grace Church, 1535 El Camino Dr. at 2:00PM.
