Obituary of Don Poggi

Don Rafael Poggi, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on December 18, 2016. He was born to Roland and Donna Poggi on January 1, 1927 in Glendale, California. He was 89 years of age. Don proudly served his country by joining the United States Navy in 1944. He served on the USS Karnes and the USS Iowa as a Radioman. Don enjoyed many things in life but had a passion for flying planes and helicopters, boating, collecting music, building various things, gold mining, designing and creating jewelry, and most of all, having fun with his family and friends. He was also a member of the EAA, Quiet Birdmen, and the NRA. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Donna Poggi, and his wife of 46 years, Betty Poggi. He is survived by his son, Bill Fulton, of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter, Anita Rheaume, of Kingman, Arizona; grandchildren, Chris, Billy, and Rachel. A service will be held for Don at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel on January 6, 2017 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu.
