Deloris "Dee" Colton, of Lake Havasu, passed away Sunday morning, December 18, 2016. She was born to Terrance and Martha Ahern on September 23, 1932 in Berthold, North Dakota. She was 84 years of age.
Dee graduated from Berthold High School in May 1950. She worked at several waitress jobs then moved to Minot, where she met her future husband, Robert Barchenger. They married June 17, 1953 and had 2 children. After his military discharge, they moved to Spring Valley, California. Dee owned and operated two produce markets in the area. In 1954 she divorced Robert and later met and married Patrick Colton. Dee was employed by Safeway (Vons) for 15 years as a meat wrapper and retired in 1989. Dee and Patrick moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in August 1989. She was a proud member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose Lodge and the American Legion.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Terrance and Martha Ahern; husband, Patrick Colton; sisters, Rose and Gloria.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Debbie) Colton; daughter, Virginia (Charles) Martell; step-daughters, Marlene Hayworth and Darlene Barrer; brothers, Jim (Elsie) Ahern, Jerry (Diane) Ahern, Terry (Betty) Ahern; sisters, Elizabeth Griffiths and Lorraine (Dick) Johnson. Dee is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dee will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary prayer service beginning at 7:00pm. Her service will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens following her service.
