Michael John Erlenbaugh
January 22, 1934 – December 17, 2016
Michael was born in Villa Park, Illinois to Ralph and Marguerite Erlenbaugh, one of seven children.
Michael served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Michael spent his working career in service to the public. First, in Illinois, as a policeman, then a firefighter, EMT, and paramedic and then Director of Marquette County Emergency Services in Wisconsin where he retired from. Michael and his wife Conny, moved to Lake Havasu City in 1999.
Arriving in Lake Havasu, he immediately joined Our Lady of the Lake choir. He was an avid Square and Round dancer, volunteer at the Humane Society, member of the Community Theater, the Community Choir, the Concert Association, and then became the director of the bell choir at Our Lady of the Lake and also played hand bells at the Episcopal Church. He created an ecumenical bell choir that performed throughout the year for service groups and nursing homes. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Forth Degree. His great appreciation for music was instilled in him by his mother. Michael loved sharing his love of the arts with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He dedicated his life to his family, his church, and his community.
Michael is preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Patricia, of 42 years; parents, Ralph and Marguerite; brother, Bill; sister, Daisy.
He is survived by his wife, Conny; son, Michael (Deborah); step-daughter, Jessica (Tracy) Pinager; sisters, Rosemary and Julie; brothers; James (Mary Ellen) and Richard (Patty), and many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers donation can be made to Lake Havasu High School Music Department, Grace Arts Live, Our Lady of the Lake Bell Choir, or Hospice of Havasu.
A Prayer Service will be Monday, December 26, 2016 at 6:30pm at Our Lady of the Lake and on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, a Memorial Mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Lake.
