Obituary of Marilyn Layel

Marilyn Layel, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away December 11, 2016. She was born to John and Agnes Dagle in Longmont, Colorado on December 21, 1938. She was 77. Marilyn attended Longmont Senior High School and graduated in 1956. She married her husband Jack, November 14, 1958 in Longmont, Colorado, where she was employed at Rocky Flats for numerous years until becoming a mom in 1961. Marilyn went back to work in 1983 then served in the Longmont Police Department as a Police Technician for over 10 years. After retiring in 2000, Jack and Marilyn decided to move and make Lake Havasu City, Arizona, their permanent residence. Marilyn was a certified Graphologist and enjoyed reading, spirituality, and working at La Paz/Lake Havasu swap meets. She loved to travel with her husband, spending time with her friends, family, children, and very proudly watching her granddaughter, Kaitlynn, pursue a degree at ASU in Havasu. Marilyn was a member of many clubs and organizations: One in Spirit book club, Hospice of Havasu Retail Store, Buick Club of America, and the St. Vrain Antique Auto Club. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Dagle: brother, Sidney Dagle. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jack Layel; son, Jeffrey (Yunqiu) Layel; daughter, Jo Lynne (Tom) Gardner; brother, Waldo "Bud" (Nancy) Dagle; five grandchildren. She is also survived by her extended family; John/Kathy Cullen and Tom James. A Memorial service for Marilyn is being held at the Hampton Inn, Lake Havasu City, Arizona on January 14, 2017 at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu or Hospice in your city. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
