Frank Edward Port, 68, of Lake Havasu City, passed away December 11, 2016. He was born to Joseph and Molly Port on December 14, 1947, one of nine children. Frank grew up in Georgetown, South Carolina where he graduated from, Winyah High School in 1964. He then entered the United States Air Force, serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War, working and maintaining air craft. In 1969, he was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, Cailfornia, where he met his wife to be, Petra. After honorable discharge in 1970, he immediately went into the appliance repair field and HVAC for Sears, in Big Bear Lake, California. Frank had his own repair business prior to moving to Havasu in 1980. In 2006, he was able to pass on his knowledge in his field, becoming a HVAC instructor for Mohave Community College, retiring in 2016. Frank's major life accomplishments were the love for his family and the love and dedication he gave them. Frank enjoyed hiking the Grand Canyon and Havasupai Canyon, boating on the lake, horseback riding, camping, the outdoors, and golfing. Last year, on the golf course, he made a hole in one. He also loved cooking in his unique outdoor kitchen. One of Frank's greatest joys was being Opa to his grandchildren, with Oma (Petra) and spoiling them. He was a scout master for troop 25 for many years, sponsored by the Methodist Church. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Molly Port; brother, Joe Port; sister, Janie Hobgood.
