Virginia Mae Pearson "Gigi" passed away peacefully at home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at the age of 93. She was born to George and Florence (Brott) Hansen on October 19, 1923 in Longmont, Colorado.
Gigi lived a full and happy life. She married her high school sweetheart Bill Pearson and they shared 51 wonderful years together before he passed away in 1993. While her husband was serving his country in the Army Air Corp, Gigi was serving her country in the USO during WWII. She continued helping and serving others throughout her life in many ways. She was a Brownie troop leader, Girl Scout troop leader, PTA president, and formed the service club "Spare Timers" who supported various charities as well as providing entertainment to multiple nursing and retirement homes. She was the playground director for Long Beach, California School District and a book keeper for Bank of America. When she moved to Lake Havasu she continued to stay involved with the community and ran Bunco at the Senior Center as well as being a member of the Western Welcome Service Club. She was also a collector of Antiques. Her greatest love and source of joy was her family.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband; Bill Pearson; parents, George and Florence Hansen; grandson, Jason Ford; sister Betty Jane; son-in-law, Glenn.
She is survived by her daughter; Sandy Ford; son, Dennis (Cheryl) Pearson; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 12:00pm in Cypress, California
