Our beloved Sharon Moore went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Sharon Lea was born on November 17, 1936 in Pomona, California, to Roy and Ona Mayfield. She attended school in La Verne, California, graduating from Bonita High School in 1955. She also attended La Verne College. She married her high school sweetheart, Ray Hurd, on August 17, 1957. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Jeff, they moved to Gene Camp at Parker Dam, California, where Ray worked for the Metropolitan Water District. During this time, Ray and Sharon welcomed their second child, Shelli. Sharon Loved sports and became a swim, volleyball, basketball, and softball coach to countless students at Parker Dam School. Her love for the game, her students and her exuberant style would endear Coach Hurd to so many. She was loved and respected by so many during her life at Gene Camp and Parker Dam School. After her divorce from Ray, Sharon moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1984 to be close to her friends and her beloved in-laws, Ray Sr. and Daisy. Sharon met Carmen Moore while attending First Baptist Church and they married November 2, 1991, having recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Together, they traveled the western United States in their RV. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved step-mom Pauline; brothers Tom and Dean; niece, Carly. She will always be loved and remembered by her husband, Carmen; son, Jeff (Kathy) Hurd; daughter, Shelli (Jennifer) Hurd; three grandchildren, Eric, Austin, and Audra Hurd; brother, Don Mayfield; sister, Jan (Mike) Pieraccini: four nephews and three nieces. Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church in Lake Havasu, at a later date. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
