Carl Henry 'Hank' Borgeson
It is with sadness that we share our loss of Carl Henry 'Hank' Borgeson who was called to heaven on October 10th, 2016 under the loving care of his family and the staff at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Havasu City, Arizona.
Hank was born on June 26, 1946 in Torrance, California to the late Carl and Wilma Borgeson. He is survived by his wife Mary of 30 years; his son Jeff and grandson Logan; his son Erik and his wife Kathy, their 2 children Emily and Ally; his sister Andrea and her three children Willie, John and Tammy; and his late brother Gary's three children.
Hank graduated from West High School in Torrance, California in 1964. He served honorably during the Vietnam War as a corporal in the U.S. Army's 1st Cavalry Division, 40th Signal Battalion. He worked for 16 years in the Los Angeles area as a semi-truck driver for the Teamsters Union.
In his retirement years Hank enjoyed working a handyman, woodworking, cooking and landscape painting. He loved pets, which included his cat Patches, his dogs Aspen and Ginger. He enjoyed classic cars and boating on the Colorado River and Lake Havasu. He was a football fan and a lifelong listener of Vin Scully's announcements of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball games. He was proud of his Swedish heritage and was passionate about discussing history and politics. He was always willing to help out his friends and family with an extra pair of hands.
Hank was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Post 9401 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
He will be buried with military funeral honors in California. A memorial service will be held in early 2017 in the Los Angeles, California area.
