Obituary of George Perez Torres

George Anthony Torres Jr. (Georgie), of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away suddenly on October 29, 2016, at the age of 60. Georgie was born in Norwalk, California on February 13, 1956. He moved with his parents to Phoenix at the age of 3. Georgie was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lupe, and brother, Danny. Georgie graduated from Phoenix Union High School where he acquired his knowledge in upholstery in the Vocational Program. He moved to Lake Havasu City in 1992, where he later started his own business, “GT Interiors” and was a master upholsterer. Georgie had so much charisma and was always the life of family gatherings and parties. He had many close friends and business friends, but his best friend was his barbeque!!! His favorite food was extra hot Mexican food. He loved to barbeque, but his favorite cook was Mother Nature (Mom). Those two took hot food to a new level. He’s been known to be stubborn on the outside, but soft, squishy, and lovable on the inside. You knew you were loved by him if he gave you a nick name. Georgie is survived by his son, George Anthony III (Gino); daughter, Laura Nicole Torres (Lori); wife; step-son CC; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Don Clapsaddle; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. He was beloved by many and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel, 21 Riviera Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Arizona on November 19, 2016 at 10:00am. A Celebration of Life will follow at George’s shop at 2675 Kiowa Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
