Roger Ernest Plourde
August 14,1936 – November 3, 2016
Roger E. Plourde, 80, of Lake Havasu City, Az. passed away peacefully at home November 3RD, surrounded with love and warmth.
He was born August 14th, 1936 in Lewiston, Me. to Yvonne Ouellette and Onesime Plourde. He went to school in Lewiston, Me. and married the love of his life, Jeannette Caron in 1966. They raised two children in Lewiston, Me, until moving to Anaheim, Ca. in 1977 and moved to Lake Havasu City, Az. in 2004.
He was a very talented woodworker and was creative in making many crafts and giving them to friends and family who treasure them. He also enjoyed traveling the country with Jeannette. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1957-1959. He was a member of the Buena Park Elks Lodge and the Lake Havasu City Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Plourde of 50 years, his daughters Susan Plourde of Lake Havasu City, Carmen McWhirter of Anaheim, Ca, and his granddaughter, whom he often thought of fondly as his "third daughter," Lindsay Plourde, of Lake Havasu City, Az.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Yvonne Ouellette Plourde and Onesime Plourde, his brother, Norman Plourde, all of Lewiston, Me.
His family would like to thank Beacon of Hope Hospice, especially Tammy and Vanessa, RN's, for their kindness and care during Roger's illness. We couldn't have gotten through this difficult time without your support.
He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family, but knowing he is at peace gives us comfort, as he is now with the Lord.
Services and internment will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to find a cure for Pancreatic Cancer.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to the Plourde family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
