Obituary of Gloria Mitchell

Gloria Mitchell, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on October 23, 2016. She was born to William Dorney and Mildred Milbrat on January 8, 1926. She was 90 years old. Gloria attended Hollywood High School, then went on to be a proud graduate from UCLA and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in 1949. She continued her career in elementary education until her retirement in 1991, ending with her working at Benchley Elementary School in San Diego, CA. Gloria and her late husband had a part time residence in Lake Arrowhead from 1970-2003. Gloria was recognized as a "Woman Of Distinction" In the field of education by the Soroptimist club of Lake Arrowhead in 2003-2004. She lived in Palm Desert from 2003-2008 before heading to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where she enjoyed living near her family until 2016. Gloria had many interests in her life such as music, education, bible study, art, and her grandchildren. Gloria always had a kind word for everyone and always saw the best in others. She was generous, gracious, and one of the best people you could ever know. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband James Mitchell, parents, William Dorney and Mildred Milbrat; daughter, Linda Fallon. Gloria is survived by her son, Bill Mitchell, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Cherie Mitchell, Sister, Juleen Jackson, of Manhattan Beach, California and seven grandchildren. Services will be held November 19, 2016 at 3:00PM at Abundant Grace Assembly of God. Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetary in Riverside, California.
