Alice Gray
June 12, 1927-October 20, 2016
Shortly before the Great Depression, our mother, Alice Gray was born the first of five children to George and Rena Sullivan to become a member of the greatest generation. Life was a struggle but as her siblings, George Jr. (Sonny), Dorothy, Edward, and Ronald were born. The family grew in love if not in prosperity.
At 17, Alice left home to work in the Defense Department during WWII. In 1956, she moved to California, and while she moved from New England, her love of her family remained strong, especially her close and abiding relationship with her sister, Dot. We truly believe that it is no coincidence that these two wonderful sisters passed away within two weeks of each other. Though thousands of miles separate us, there is comfort in sharing our grief with our cousins in Massachusetts.
She met and fell in love and was married three times. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd and one child who was stillborn; her parents and siblings Eddie, Ronnie and Dot.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Bethany Howard; son, Ivan Tanner, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Alice was visited often by her grandchildren, Holly, Cheryl, David and Jeremy and great grandchildren, Trishell, Jamie and Destiny.
