Obituary of Robert Edward Clifford
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bob Clifford, a joyful happy man always full of laughter, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday evening, October 12th, in hospice care, in Lake Havasu City, Az. He was 87 years old.
Bob was born in Santa Monica, California and raised in Venice, California. He served his country as an MP in the United States Army in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. Bob met Ethel Nelson in 1953 and they were married six months later on Friday the 13th, in a Baptist church by a Lutheran Minister. They settled in southern California where they began a new life together that would span 54 years.
In 1964 their life took a turn as they moved their three children to the foothills of the Wasatch Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Throughout his life Bob was consistently involved in the activities of his children and grandchildren and relished telling stories about their exploits. Both Bob and Ethel retired in their 50's and spent many years traveling, exploring the country on his motorcycle, and enjoying their lives and time together.
Ethel was taken by cancer in 2007 and Bob moved to Lake Havasu where he began the final chapter of his life with a new city and friends. He was welcomed into the community with open arms and he fully embraced life there. Those who knew Bob always refer to him as a man who loved to laugh and was a joy to be around.
Bob is survived by: His brother Richard Clifford. His children: Paul Clifford (Sonia St. Charles), Wayne Clifford (Patty), and Julie Clifford. His grandchildren: Daniel Boyer (Allegra), John Clifford, Beth Clifford, Ben Clifford, Anne Clifford, Eric Clifford, Wil St. Charles (Krista).

He will be remembered as a good man, husband, and father. Days before entering hospice, Bob said with a smile on his face "I have lived a great life. I have done what I came here to do and I am ready to go." He was always teaching us about life by how he lived his.
