Obituary of Fred Kuerner

Fred John Kuerner Sr. of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away on October 6, 2016 at the age of 82. He was the oldest of 7 children born to Gottlob and Anna (Wezel) Kuerner on June 22, 1934 in Queens, New York. Fred was proud to have served his country in the United States Army stationed in Korea. Serving and helping people continued throughout Fred's life as was apparent by his choice of careers. He was a Fireman for the City of New York and upon his retirement, he continued to help others as a Respiratory Therapist. After relocating to Arizona he became a Deputy with the Mohave County Sheriff's Dept. until retiring in 1989. His life was centered around his family. On May 5, 1956 Fred married the love of his life, Margaret Hosking, and they shared 60 adventurous years together, first raising a beautiful family, and then traveling the world together. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and still kayaking at 81 years old. Fred was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He was a great man who touched many lives and he will be dearly missed. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; Gottlob and Anna Kuerner, and his son; Fred Kuerner, Jr. He is survived by his wife; Margaret Kuerner, his sons; Robert (Tansy) Kuerner and Scott (Denise) Kuerner, his daughter; Denise Kuerner, his daughter-in-law; Rainey Kuerner, his brothers; Roland (Marie) Kuerner, Herbert (Noreen) Kuerner, Richard (Betty) Kuerner, Robert (Diane) Kuerner, and Norman (Lorraine) Kuerner, his sister Arlene (Steve) Enz, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church on McCulloch Blvd. @ 11:00. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
