Dorcas "Dottie" Lucille Taylor Rogers, 87 of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away in her home on September 24th, 2016.
Dorcas was born on December 28th, 1928, Columbus Ohio. She attended Mifflin High School and went on work for an insurance company where she was one of their top secretaries. Shortly after, she fell for love of her life, John William Rogers. John and Dorcas were married in 1950 and had their only son John Danford Rogers in 1952. It was during this time, she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, ceramic making, watching movies/TV and perfecting her bowling score.
In 1974, John and Dorcas went searching for their desert oasis and landed in Lake Havasu City, AZ. There John built Dorcas her own art studio, where she taught ceramic art classes, kept her grandchildren busy with creative projects and made beautiful art.
Dorcas is predeceased by her parents John Francis Taylor and Helen Maye McMains Taylor and is now reunited with her late husband. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family; son, John Danford Rogers, and four grandchildren, Brooke Rogers, Natalie Rogers, Ashley Rogers and Clayton Rogers as well as her dear friend Susie Corley.
Dorcas' warm heart and laughter will be forever cherished.
The family will be holding a private burial.
