Obituary of Elizabeth Maxine Bignell

Elizabeth Maxine Bignell, 80, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away peacefully with family at her side on September 16, 2016. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on October 1, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church located at 1605 McCulloch Blvd, S. Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406 Maxine was born in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, Canada on June 29, 1936. Maxine met the love of her life Roland B. Bignell at a church function and they were married in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 2, 1956.They were married for 60 years! Maxine and Roland moved to Upland, California in 1981. In 1999 they moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Maxine worked in administrative management for IBM Canada; AC Nielsen, Canada; Lewis Homes, California; Select Insurance Services, LHC. She enjoyed raising her three boys and oil painting. She was also actively involved in volunteering at San Antonio Hospital in California, Calvary Baptist Church and at Havasu Regional Medical Center. Maxine was a compassionate person with a servant's heart. In her humility, she would not wear the badge, which she was honored to accept, recognizing her 10,500 volunteer hours at Havasu Regional Medical Center. Maxine loved her Lord and was looking forward to the promise "...absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". (2 Corinthians 5:8) Maxine is survived by her husband Roland, her 3 sons: Allan, Mark and Jonathan, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and other family and friends. The family is grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff for the professional and personal care Maxine received at Havasu Regional Medical Center.
