James Robert Clendenin passed away at the age of 72 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on August 15, 2016. He was born to Charles and Mary (Earl) Clendenin in Huntington, West Virginia on January 23, 1944. Jim was a logical man who was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force where he put that logic and intelligence to good use programming computers and developing the software for defense missiles. He was a Civil War Historian and very knowledgeable about the history of West Virginia. Astronomy was another hobby of his. Jim had many interests and passed that enthusiasm on to his grandchildren. He taught them history, math and music and inspired them to learn and excel at whatever interested them. Jim is preceded in death by his wife; Mildred Elaine Marien, his mother; Mary Clendenin and his son James Robert Clendenin Jr. He is survived by his daughters; Linda Kugler and Michelle Clendenin of Lake Havasu City and Stephanie Clendenin of Huntington beach, California, as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
