Marvin Peters of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away August 13, 2016 at the age of 91. He was the loving husband of Marian Peters for 65 years.
He was born Nov 18, 1924 in Delft, MN to the late Henry H & Marie Peters. He lived in MN until starting his Army/Air Force career of more than 23 years, serving in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Marvin and Marian enjoyed the adventures of military life, living in Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Guam, California, Nevada, and Virginia and shared their love of travel with their 4 children. When it came time to retire from the Air Force, they returned to MN but eventually chose the warmer weather of AZ to settle. He was very active in his church, Boy Scouts, the Rotary and Elks Clubs, and he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. When it was time to retire again, they settled in Peoria, AZ. They enjoyed traveling for another 28 years in their 5th wheel trailer and truck, visiting family and friends, all 50 states, and 3 countries. They wrote about their adventures each year, leaving lasting memories for their family.
Marvin is survived by his son, Brian Peters and wife Pam of Willmar, MN; his daughter, Laura Thompson and husband Rod of Cumberland, RI; his daughter, Rita Kidder of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandchildren Jennifer, Christopher, Matthew, Andrew, David, Christine, Katherine, and Thomas; and great-grandchildren Tristan, Kinleigh, and Noah. He is also survived by his 3 brothers, Ted Peters of Windom, MN; Henry Peters of Winthrop, MN; and Harry Peters of Brooten, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian, and his daughter Karla Austin.
A memorial service in memory of his life will be held at a later date in MN.
