Obituary of Robert Dwayne Ross

Robert D. Ross, born on 02/04/1939, went to be with Our Lord on 08/12/2016. How do you put a man's life accomplishments and essence into 300 words? Coming from the perspective of his only daughter, here is my best shot. He married the first and only girl he ever loved, my mom, Carrie Stroud in 1958. He was an ever-present influence of love and support to his 3 children, Robert, Thomas and Kimberly (that's me). His Grandchildren: Missy, Courtney, Caitlyn, Zachary, Coral Lee and Great Granddaughter Victoria were, in his words, the sunshine in all his days. He loved anything about history, he loved to laugh and he loved to cook gourmet meals for my mom and my Aunt Betty. He also leaves behind life long friends who will remember him for his huge heart, great sense of humor and selfless way he always took care of others. He became an LA County Sheriff as soon as he turned 21 and had an amazing career which made him and all of his family so proud. Of course, there is sadness left behind because he will be missed so much; however, we know that he will be waiting for us in Heaven where we will all be reunited with joy.
