Please share a memory of JACK to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jack Rideout, 82, of Lake Havasu City, passed away on August 12, 2016, after a brief illness. Jack was born in Oklahoma City, on August 20, 1933. He moved with this family to the Los Angeles area when he was in his teens, and graduated Fremont High School in 1951. He married his wife Patty shortly after, and they had 4 children together. Jack proudly served his community as a Los Angeles County firefighter and Captain for 25 years. When he retired in the mid-1980's, he and Patty moved from California, first to Dolores, Colorado, then to Lake Havasu City in 2000. Over his lifetime, Jack enjoyed photography, fishing, and solving crossword puzzles. He loved football and baseball, was an avid Denver Bronco's fan, and rooted for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He and Patty traveled all over the western United States. But mostly, Jack loved and was proudest of his family. Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patty Rideout; his daughter Denise Carter and her husband James, of Terrell, Texas; his daughter Gail Stull and her husband Fritz of Wenatchee, Washington; his son Jeff Rideout and wife Linda of San Diego, California; his son Paul Rideout and wife Kim of Bagdad, Arizona; sister Betty Woessner of Brea, California; and sister Evelyn Gwatney of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Jack also had many grandchildren: Jenny Hyatt; Kerry Hyatt-Genter and her husband Axel Genter; Renee Parkins; Brian Parkins; Nathan Stull; Josh Rideout; Sarah Rideout; Jake Rideout; Jessica Rideout; Nick Rideout; and Andrew Rideout; and great-grandchildren Natalie and Damon. In Lieu of funeral services, Jack's family held a private celebration of his life. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
