Obituary of KENNETH EUGENE NISSEN
Please share a memory of KENNETH to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Eugene Nissen, "Uncle Kenny" passed away on July 26, 2016. He was born to Norman and Peggy Nissen on June 9, 1951 in Pasadena, California. He was 65 years old.
Kenneth was fondly referred to as "Uncle Kenny" by everyone. He earned this title due to the fact that he had so many nieces and nephews and no children of his own.
In 1993, Kenneth moved to Lake Havasu City and opened "Uncle Kenny's Cafe." The establishment quickly became a local favorite. He was a generous man and was known for feeding the homeless and others that were struggling. He contributied to many organizations and donated his time to help others.
He was an avid camper, fisherman, chef and Harley rider. Kenny enjoyed spending time on the lake, skiing, and playing darts and billiards. He was active in the Eagle Airee and was Vice-President of the Eagle Riders. He was also a member of the "Wall Gang."
Kenny was a loving son, preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Nissen. His brother Johnny Nissen also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his father, Norman Nissen; sisters, Susan (Dave) Ericson and Kathy Touche, as well as, sister-in-law, Cyndy Nissen. He also leaves behind twelve nieces and nephews and thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews.
Uncle Kenny worked the cafe for 23 years before recently selling to retire. Along the way, he made many friends and touched many lives. The community lost one of the best that day. He will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1561 Marlboro Dr, Lake Havasu City.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Eagles charity of the month in Kenny's honor.
