John Thomas Norton Jr.
March 22, 1941- July 19, 2016
John Thomas Norton Jr. passed away with his family by his side in his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on July 19, 2016. He was born on March 22, 1941 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to John Thomas Norton Sr. and Elizabeth Morphis.
At the young age of seventeen John enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly. After his military duties were complete, John made a career as an operations engineer with the municipal government.
John was an active member of several clubs in his free time. He was a member of the Elks Club for over 36 years and the Relics and Rods Club for thirteen. His truck was his baby! John also enjoyed marketing for the Havasu 95 Speedway.
He is survived by his fiancée, Linda Bassett; mother, Shirley Moreno; sons, Eric and Wayne Norton; daughter, Tara Norton; brothers, Bob Norton, and Johnny, Tony, and Steve Moreno; five grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Relics and Rods Hall located in the Aquatic Center on August 20, 2016 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in John's name to Hospice of Havasu.
