Obituary of Gloria Marion Darrow

Gloria Most Darrow, 87, a resident of Lake Havasu City, AZ, for 27 years, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, June 17, 2016.
Gloria was an active member of the Elkettes, Red Hat Traveling Feathers, Light House Club, Yacht Club, Desert Singles, Western Welcome Club, Ladies Marine Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles. Gloria danced from age 5-87. She started teaching dance at age 12 in Chicago, Ill. She performed professionally from age 14-20in Mexico City with the Olson and Johnson Show and the Six Brucettes, “Funzappopin,” in Madison Square Garden. She was the head dance instructor for Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department. She had a dance studio in Lakewood, Ca. Teaching Ballet, Toe, Tap, Acrobatic and Modern Jazz. She worked in the ABC school district as an instructional aide and Building Leader Aide. When working with Bailey’s Young World they performed at the 1984 Olympics, which she helped to Choreograph. She danced with a group called Touch of Class. She helped put on shows later in life, among them: the Follies for the Elks Club bringing in $6,000.00 for the battered woman agency and another bringing in $3,185.00 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emil, mother, Irma and loving husband George.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah and Belinda (John), Grandchildren, Aaron (Christa), Natalie (Aaron), Kelly, Johnny (Sierra), George (Emily) and Great Grandchildren Triston, Michael, Jack, Trinity, Faith, Russel, Corynne, Hope, Charity, Sofia, Kellen and John Kase.
The family said “Crazy Grandma” will be missed, especially at all the parties that precede her. She is dancing with dad and her friends as you read this!
Celebration of life will be September 10th at Grace Arts Theater at 10 am, mom requested to wait for her friends to return.
