Obituary of Pauline Catherine Wilmes

Pauline Catherine Wilmes December 31, 1920 – June 6, 2016 Pauline Catherine Wilmes, 95, passed away Monday, in her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born December 31, 1920 in Glen Ullin, N.D., to Steve and Rose Fischer. Pauling and her now deceased husband, Wilfird, moved to Lake Havasu City in 1984 to begin their retirement. Pauline worked as a waitress most of her life while raising seven children. She also worked as a riveter for Boeing during World War II, and owned a small Café in North Dakota for some time. Pauline was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed large family gatherings. She loved playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and watching old John Wayne movies. She also loved children, especially babies, and spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pauline is survived by her children: Sharon Massey, of Escondido, California, Jerry (Gladi) Wilmes, of Santa Clarita, California, June (Larry) Hill, of Kingman, Arizona, Timothy (Rosario) Wilmes, of Palmdale, California, Cynthia (John) Rafkind, of Canyon Country, California, Jane (Tony) Jorgensen, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Scott (Donna) Wilmes, of Lancaster, California; 15 great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, June 25, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at a family residence, and there will be a private burial service for the family the following day.
