Maza Lorane Drysdale passed away at the age of 96 on May 30, 2016 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born to Holace and Ida Tunnell in Butler, Missouri on August 19, 1919.
Maza met the love of her life one day when a handsome boy from a neighboring farm came by to visit and found her suffering from an acute case of Poison Ivy. He drove her to the nearest drug store and bought her some Calamine, Lotion and became her hero. They were married in Joplin, Missouri on April 18, 1937 and were married 60 years.
Maza had less than an 8th grade education until the age of 36, when after having 7 children, she took a test to get her GED and went on to take a 2 year nursing course and receive her LVN license. She worked at various hospitals in and around Visalia, California, including Memorial Hospital at Exeter and Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia.
She loved gardening, to dig in the earth and make something grow. She was also a good cook and baker. Her family loved her homemade sourdough bread and waffles, cinnamon sticky buns and blackberry cobbler she made from berries she grew herself.
