Obituary of Norman Eldon Cathcart

Norman E. Cathcart Norman E. Cathcart passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23rd, 2016. Norm was born February 18th, 1927 in Judsonia, AR., son of the late Chester and Alice (Miller) Cathcart. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Post Office Department as a railway postal clerk on the Twentieth Century Limited before being transferred to the Post Office in Elkhart, IN. He was Superintendent of Collection and Deliveries and Superintendent of Mails before retiring in 1984. On April 9th, 1947 Norman was united in marriage to Janet Sue Westbrook who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Ronald Cathcart and his wife Mary J Decker-Cathcart. He is survived by three daughters, Kaye Long of Eudroa, KS. , Sue Cathcart of Kalamazoo, MI., Cindy Yoder of Elkhart IN, four grandchildren, Michael Long, Sarah Elston, Luke (Olivia) Yoder, and Phil Yoder, and four great grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Madilyn and Taylor. At his request cremation has taken place with no visitation. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
