KATHERYNE LURA TROTTER ELLISON
Katheryne passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Katheryne was born on July 27, 1920 in Bee, Oklahoma to George Wilson "Jenks" Trotter and Mary Ethel Douglas Trotter. At an early age the family moved to Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
Kaye moved from Oklahoma to California in the early 1940's. She worked at a General Dynamics-Convair in San Diego during WWII. She then worked for 20 years as a pastry chef for San Diego City Schools, retiring in 1980.
After her husband's death in 1980, Kaye moved from San Diego to Salem, Oregon. A life long member of the Church of the Nazarene, Kaye continued to be an active member of Salem First Church of the Nazarene. In 2000 she moved with her daughter and son-in-law to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Kaye was a woman of God and very devoted to her family. She was a very caring person and dedicated her life to helping others. In her later years she became a caregiver.
Her interests were cooking and baking, at which she excelled. Everyone agreed she made the best fried chicken, it was her specialty. She always tried to improve her baking skills by taking pastry courses from local chefs.
One of her proudest accomplishments was returning to Adult Education and receiving her high school diploma at the age of 41.
Kaye is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Jacks of Torrance, California, Beverly Columbus (Charles) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sister, Wanda Martin of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren, Chris (Daisy) Jacks of Pahrump, Nevada, Michael (Sandra) Jacks, of The Dalles, Oregon, Dennis Jacks of San Antonio, Texas, Jann Kaye Whetstone, of Los Angeles, California, and Janelle Jacks Whetstone, of Los Angeles, California; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morris Ellison, son, John Edward Moore, and her beloved Bichon, Teddy.
Our family extends our deepest gratitude to all the caregivers at Prestige Assisted Living, Expressions, and Hospice of Havasu for the loving care they provided for many years.
A Graveside Service was held in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
In remembrance of Kaye, our family requests that you do a kind deed for someone or offer a kind word of encouragement to someone who seems lost.
We know you were tired and wanted to go home. Rest in peace, Mama.
