Obituary of Joshua James Smith

Joshua James Smith died in his hometown on May 4, 2016. He was born on March 18, 1997 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona to Benjamin Smith and Kristen Schwichtenberg. Joshua had a passion for music. He enjoyed playing the drums and saxophone as much as he could. He was also an active member with Calvary Baptist Church. He treasured spending time with all his family and friends and enjoyed texting them often. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his son, Gaven. Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Smith. He is survived by his parents, Benjamin L. Smith, and Kristen Schwichtenberg, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; son, Gaven A. Grogan-Smith, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brother, Brandon Smith, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sister, Amanda N. Smith, of New Lebonion, Ohio; grandparents, Albert and Hannalore Schwichtenberg of Chicago, Illinois as well as his 2 neices, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sammy. Donations can be made to assist the family with funeral expenses through their go fund me account. A memorial service is scheduled at 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church. A fundraiser memorial benefit will follow at 4:00 PM at BJ's Cabana Bar on 2212 McCulloch Blvd. Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86403. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
