Arlene Mary Fowler
Arlene Mary Fowler, 84, passed away August 2, 2014. She was born to the late Alice and Al Carter in Huntington Park, California on November 14, 1929.
Arlene was an only child and grew up in the Los Angeles, California area where she met her husband Richard. He was known as a "Fonzi" type and they met at the high school Arlene attended. They were married in St. Helen's Church in Los Angeles and had been married for fifty years before Richard's passing in 2000.
Before retiring, she worked as a head secretary/office manager for State Farm Insurance, Sears Schwartz Engineering Co. and Anadite Metal Processing in California.
She was a member of the American Legion. She was a lover of all animals, especially cats and dogs, and she also adored the character "Snoopy" and had a large collection. She enjoyed watching movies, going boating on the river and listening to music.
"She gave so much, but asked for so little."
Arlene is survived by her sons, Craig (Kris) Fowler, of South Gate, California and Glen Fowler, of Norwalk, California; cousin, Louise Cox, of Palm Desert, CA and granddaughters, Kristen and Heather, as well as many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fowler, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona as well as her beloved cat "Squeekums" and her beagle, "Heidi."
The family requests that donations may be made to the Western Arizona Humane Society in Arlene's name in lieu of flowers.
