Patricia Gail "Pat" Rice, 72, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, at her home in Lake Havasu City, of complications due to COPD. Born March 17, 1942, in Los Angeles County, Calif., to the late, Ernest and Leona McCabe, Pat grew up in San Diego County, Calif., where she graduated from Mount Miguel High School in 1960. She lived in San Diego County until moving to Sheridan, Wyo. in 1976, then relocating to Lake Havasu City, in 1990. She worked as a hairstylist for more than 40 years, was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and Moose lodges and a member of The Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City. Pat remained close with her two husbands, Dick Loeber (1962-1980) and Emory Rice (1990-2001); and stepchildren, Debbie (Loeber) Anderson, Staci (Rice) Auck, Paige (Rice) Jetti and Park Rice and their families. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Rich and daughter-in-law Crystal Loeber of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Victoria Christensen and husband Bryce of Provo, Utah, and Jacob Loeber of Twin Falls, Idaho; step-grandchildren, Carrie and Jeremy Blackwell of Alexandria, Va.; and great-grandson, James Christensen of Provo, Utah. Pat will also be missed greatly by her sisters, Anna Carter of Lake Havasu City, Dorothy Schmidt of Herrville, Texas, and Kathleen and husband Russell Mascari of Lake Havasu City; four nieces and two nephews; in-laws; and a number of other relatives and close friends. Pat's family thanks Hospice of Havasu and A Helping Hand for the excellent care they provided during her last days. In keeping with Pat's wishes, there will be no funeral services. She asked that instead of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Havasu. As Pat wished, her organs were donated to Research for Life and body will be cremated.
