Obituary of Judith Ann Malay
Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judith (Judy) Ann Malay, "Mimi" to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2014, at 11:00AM, at the Polidori House in Lake Havasu City. She was comforted by the love of her family. Those who knew her appreciated her kind and generous nature.
Judy was born on December 31, 1942, in Everett, Massachusetts, to May Rose (Gallant) and Emmett Hickman Collins. She grew up with two sisters and a brother in Chelsea, Massachusetts in a small town outside of Boston. Among her hobbies, were music, dancing, reading and sewing.
She raised her family of three daughters in Peabody, Massachusetts, on the North Shore of Boston. They are left with many pleasant memories of traveling and camping as a family. In 1978, the family moved to Lake Havasu City, where Judy became fond of mountain climbing, horseback riding, hunting and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her mother, May Rose Glynn; brother, Lawrence Friot; brothers-in-law, John Washington, Sr. and Vincent Maglione; step-sisters, Jacqueline and Beatrice and step-brother, Earl.
She is survived by the love of her life, Thomas Malay; daughters, Denise Barr, Kelly (Larry) Zeitler, and Dawn (David) Dodge; sisters, Carol Maglione and Jacqueline Washington; father, Michael Glynn; step-brother, Alan Friot; step-sisters, Pat Rose and Louise (John) Sullivan. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Blake Stokes, Jessica Scavuzzo, Josh Dodge, Joshua Barr and Kambri (Nick) Bresnahan, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Though our loss is great, and the grieving difficult, we take great comfort in knowing that she was accepting of her imminent passing and ready to meet the Lord. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Polidori House, in Lake Havasu City, in honor of Judith Malay.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to Judy's family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
