Helen Louise Pfoutz, 87, passed away on September 9, 2014 in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
She was born in 1927 to Ray and Mary (Kyler) Meas in West Decatur, PA.
Helen graduated from high school in Philipsburg, PA. She then went on to complete a two-year program at the Thompson School of Business in Harrisburg, PA, with concentrations in both bookkeeping and secretarial training.
In 1948, Helen married Bill Pfoutz, with whom she had two daughters. In addition to central PA, Helen and her family also lived in suburban St. Louis, suburban Chicago & western VA. While raising her children, Helen worked outside of the home, primarily as an elementary school secretary.
Helen often spent her spare time being involved in support of her daughters' activities, by volunteering in such positions as a vacation bible school teacher, Girl Scout leader, and band booster treasurer. She served in the additional capacities with other organizations as well. In her free time, Helen enjoyed reading and taking a brisk, daily walk.
Helen is survived by her daughter JC (Steve) Peterson, of Lake Havasu City; grandson, Zach Peterson, also of LHC; granddaughter, Mackenzie Peterson of Las Vegas, NV: great-grandsons, Memphis & Collin Peterson of Coolidge, AZ; bonus great-grandchildren, Logan & Gracie Burns, also of Coolidge; & sister, Jean McIntyre of St. Petersburg, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2003 & her daughter Lezlie in 1998.
No public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Havasu Meals on Wheels (c/o Lake Havasu Senior Center, 450 S. Acoma Blvd., LHC, AZ 86406.)
The family extends its gratitude to the staff members of Jasmine House Assisted Living, for their patient, considerate, kind and loving care of Helen during the last few years of her life.
