Please share a memory of Joel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joel "Scott" Hemperly, our loving husband, son, brother & father fell asleep in death on September 24, 2014, at the age of 67. He was born on July 26, 1947 to Ethel & John Harry Hemperly in Richland, Washington. He and his twin brother were the first twin boys to be born in Richland. Scott graduated from Kennewick High School in Kennewick, Washington in 1965. He later moved to Idaho Falls. He also lived in Denver, while he attended Western Technical College. There he met his wife, Bernadette (Bernie). They were wed on January 4, 1969. He worked for Tempte Trailers from 1968 to 1974. Upon returning to Idaho Falls, he worked for the City and retired in 2004, after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2010, the family began to winter in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They fell in love with the town and finally made it their permanent home in 2012. Scott was very creative. Designing cards and creating illustrative computer drawings for his family brought him great joy. Scott had a very strong faith in his loving God Jehovah. He looked forward to Jehovah's promise of a resurrection, where he will have health and happiness forever on a paradise earth. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Harry and twin brother, Steve. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bernadette; mother, Ethel Emmerson of Idaho Falls; son, Greg, of Boise; daughter, Jolene (Jon) Clark, of Idaho Falls, brothers, Nathan (Marilyn) of Pocatello and Richard (Judy) of Idaho Falls; and step brothers, Randy and Mike Dunning. Scott also had five grandchildren. Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Saturday, October 4th at 1:00PM. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Havasu for their loving care of Scott. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
