I knew Mel from the USS Radford DD/DDE446. He was a treasured member of the association and a loyal supporter. He was a dear, sweet man with a kind heart. Every year at the Radford reunion, I would run to him and get a huge hug. He was happy to see us and we were happy to see him. I have missed his smile but I know he`s happy to be spending Christmas with Ethel.
