Marilyn Jean Mason, age 88 passed away November 13, 2014 peacefully at home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Marilyn was born August 3, 1926 in Illiopolis, Illinois. She is the daughter of the late Vernon Fawcett Nuckolls and Margaret Helen Slonaker. Marilyn married Howard Eugene Mason on December 30, 1945 in Galesburg, Illinois; they were happily married for 67 years. Marilyn lived in Galesburg, Illinois until 1951. They later made their way to California before settling in Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1976. Marilyn was the president of Soroptimist International of Havasu in the late 80s. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, hobbies, and entertaining people. She also loved family reunions. Marilyn is survived by daughter, Judy Ann Gauthier, of Lake Havasu City; brothers, Rickie Eugene Mason, of Sutherlin, Oregon; and Howard Eugene Mason Jr., of La Verne, California. She is also survived by six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Mason Sr.; and parents, Vernon and Margaret Nuckolls. Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home (21 Riviera Blvd. Lake Havasu City, AZ. 86403) on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
