.William "Bill" Redman
William Redman of Kingman passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014.
He was born in Ishpeming, Mich., on Dec. 1, 1946, to Wilfred A. and F. Elva Redman. He attended and graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1965 and attended Northern Michigan University. Bill was a member of the Marquette Township Fire Department (Mich.). He worked in construction, commercial and residential, for many years and became the city building inspector and code enforcement officer for the city of Menominee, Mich.
Bill moved to Kingman in 1992 and was a building inspector and plans examiner for Mohave County. In 1999, Bill went to work for the state of Arizona Registrar of Contractors as an inspector. He retired in 2012. Bill served as a board member for the Hualapai Valley Fire Department and an honored volunteer at Kingman Regional Medical Center as a cart driver.
Bill will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He was a very proud Vietnam veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1967-1973. His love of country was acknowledged by all who knew him. Bill loved hockey, which he played, coached and refereed, was a life-long Green Bay Packers fan, and spent many hours fishing with friends and family and loved to four-wheel the back roads of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Jon, sister Mary Lou Temple, grandparents, brother-in-law Bud Temple and nephew William Temple. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melody, sister Diane Skewis (Cindra Quayle), sons Anthony (Austin, Texas) and Patrick (Chicago), sister-in-law Karla Tabaka (Randy), brother-on-law Carl Gerdt, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and numerous friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2014.
