Obituary of Lucie Marie Melby

LUCIE MARIE MELBY DECEMBER 17, 1942- December 16, 2014 Lucie Marie Melby passed away on December 16, 2014 in Lake Havasu City, AZ, just one day short of her 72 birthday. She was born on December 17, 1942 in Madera, CA. Lucie grew up in Firebaugh, California. She moved to the Los Angeles area where she met the love of her life, Larry Melby. They married and had two children. They moved to Idaho and settled in Lewiston, Idaho. After they retired, Larry and Lucie lived in Lake Havasu City in the winter months. Lucie had many health issues as an adult. She was on kidney dialysis, had two kidney transplants, stomach cancer, and multiple back fractures. She was strong and a fighter through every challenge. She never complained and always tried to better her health. Lucie worked all of her adult life. She was generous and kind to all. She truly loved her family. Lucie was an avid golfer, loved movies and reading books. She loved the heat and would sit in the sun for hours. She was an excellent cook and taught her daughter and daughter in-law how to make the best Mexican food. Lucie leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Larry, a son age 51 who lives in Boise, Idaho with his wife, Leslie and 2 sons; Adam and Ethan, her daughter, Laura who lives in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and her husband Mark. Lucie was loved immensely by her family and will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel.
