Juanita Lena Pauer, passed away February 10, 2016 at the age of 103. She was born on August 29, 1912 in Winslow, Arizona.
As a young child, Juanita's family of seven traveled by stagecoach from Jerome to Yuma, Arizona where they boarded a train for the remainder of the trip moving to California. She spent most of her life as a stay at home mother. When her three children were older she worked at Sears & Roebuck running a comptometer.
Juanita moved to Lake Havasu City eight years ago. In her younger years, she liked to fish. She was competitive by nature and enjoyed playing bingo, card and dice games and reading. She would get mad when someone caught a bigger fish than she did. She always liked to win.
At the proud age of 103, she remained active even in her latter days, going out daily, taking walks, spending time at the senior center and playing cards. She attended church at Redemption Hill Calvary Chapel twice a week. Juanita was the fourth of five siblings. Longevity definitely runs in the family. Her older sister lived to be 105 years old before passing. He brother lived to be 93 and another sister recently celebrated her 101st birthday.
