Obituary of David John Lella

David John Lella (Mr. Dave) of Lake Havasu City passed away on January 14, 2015 following a brief illness. He was 86 years old.
Dave was born on July 20, 1928 in Wausau, Wisconsin. He graduated from Wausau High School in 1946. He joined the Navy and served during the Korean conflict. He married June Busche in Wausau, Wisconsin on August 16, 1952 and they had one daughter, Cathy. He worked for the Daily Herald in Wausau, Wisconsin as Circulation Manager for 33 years. He retired in 1986, then he and his family moved to Lake Havasu. He worked for some time with Lake Havasu Parks and Recreation in the After School Program and he also taught golf to kids in the Summer Program. The kids affectionately called him, "Mr. Dave". He loved golf, fishing and the occasional trip to a casino.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June in 1998.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Hoover (Jim); granddaughter, Melaina Blomenkamp (Mike); grandson, Joseph Hoover; great-grandchildren, Ellerie and Kaysen; brother, Joseph who resides in Weston, Wisconsin and Gaga of Lake Havasu, Arizona.
A private celebration of Dave's life will be held soon.
