Claire Margaret Wrona
June 18, 1921 to January 18, 2015
Claire Wrona died peacefully at the age of 93 with family at her side, on January 18, 2015. Born June 18, 1921 in Mount Pleasant, Pennyslvania to Stanley and Anna Bartnick. Claire was the youngest girl in a family of ten children. As a young girl, the family moved from Mount Pleasant to Chicago where she grew up and completed high school. She learned to speak English, Polish, and Russian.
Prior to World War II, Claire met Ted Wrona and following the war they were married on October 6, 1945. Their life together lasted nearly 60 years until Ted's passing in 2005. Over those six decades the two of them worked hard, started and sold businesses, cultivated great friends, and learned to love traveling around the US. They enjoyed family fishing vacations to Wisconsin and Minnesota and gambling excursions to Las Vegas and Laughlin. After they retired and moved to Lake Havasu they quickly discovered that Laughlin was a short trip away and took advantage of the convenience every chance they could.
The joys of Claire's life consisted mostly of Ted, her sons, travel, good friends, reading, and baking. She was especially proud of making traditional Polish baked goods that delighted the family.
Claire is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted and is survived by her three sons, Ted (Ruth) of Minocqua Wisconsin, Jim (Ellen) of Monterey, California, Tom (Deborah) of Lake Havasu; six grandchildren, Carrie, Stacey, Steve, Kristin, Michael, and Jennifer; and three great-grandchildren, Zach, Benji, and Gabriel.
A private memorial service is being arranged by the family.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to Wrona's family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
