Robert E. (Bob) Fraser, 85, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his home in Lake Havasu City of natural causes. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 30, 1929 and lived on Long Island until moving to Lake Havasu City, in 1991 with his devoted wife, Helen. Bob married Helen Hoyt on July 18, 1980 in Babylon Village, New York and they resided in Suffolk County until moving to Lake Havasu City. Bob served 2 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and 3 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving as an Aviation Cadet until being Honorably discharged as an Airman 1st Class. Bob worked for Lockheed Aircraft at JFK Airport as a licensed Aircraft A & E Mechanic for 9 years. He then became a Suffolk Police Officer for 6 years, resigning to become a Suffolk County Traffic Engineer, retiring in 1989 after 25 years with Suffolk County. Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years, Helen. He is also survived by a son, Robert E. Fraser, Jr. and daughters Kim Fraser and Bonnie Metcalf, all of Long Island, New York. He is also survived by stepsons, William Dean of Arkansas and Jeffrey Dean of San Diego; 7 granddaughters; 2 great granddaughters; 1 great grandson. Also, he is survived by a sister and 2 stepsisters in New York, and by his faithful dog Harley. Since moving to Lake Havasu City, Bob was a member of the Masons and Shriners; 24 year member of Elks Lodge 2399, the Eagles, Lake Havasu Yacht Club, Marine Corps League, American Legion. Bob and Helen also enjoyed their membership in Mohave County Search and Rescue. As members of the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club they sponsored the Fire Island Lighthouse replica located near Rotary Beach and are members of the Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society in New York. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club in memory of Bob. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 2nd at 11:00 A.M. at the Lake Havasu Yacht Club with a reception following the Memorial service. Military Honors will be provided by the Lake Havasu Marine Corps League. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
