Obituary of Opal Mae Gust

Opal Mae Gust passed away at the age of 92 on January 28, 2015 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born to Laura Mae and Peter Amrose Fitchell in Chaseley, North Dakota on November 11, 1922. Opal then moved to Vashon, Washington where she met and married Norman Gust on March 18, 1945. They then lived in Tillamook, Oregon, Beaverton, Oregon and finally Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1990. They were married for 57 years. Opal retired from Tektronix in Beaverton, Oregon. She enjoyed traveling, family, baking, painting, sewing, crocheting, and table games. She was a member of the London Bridge Women's Club. Opal is survived by her daughters, Shay M. (Sharyn) Larson of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Charlene M. Pruden of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, daughter-in-laws, Shannon Drummond- Larson of Lake Havasu City, and Renate Chorbboneau of Milwaukie, Oregon; sister, Fern Larsen of Lacey, Washington; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Opal is proceeded in death by her husband, Norman A. Gust; parents, Peter and Mae Fitchell; and son, Douglas K. Gust. Donations can be made in Opal's name to the local VFW, Post 9401, 266 London Bridge Road, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86403. Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Monday, February 9th at 2:00 P.M. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
