Lloyd Q. Wessel passed away at 90 years of age on February 5, 2015 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Thelma Delores and Robert E. Wessel in San Bernardino, California on September 9, 1924. Lloyd was wed to Lauraine McCormick on July 7, 1945 at the Westside Christian Church in Topeka, Kansas; they were married for 70 years. Lloyd served in the US Army Medical Corp from 1943-1946.
Lloyd lived in San Bernardino, California; Topeka, Kansas; and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Lloyd was employed at the Santa Fe Railroad for 32 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, as well as collecting trains and golf balls for his grandchildren. He also played military softball which is how he met his wife.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lauraine Wessel of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; son, Jerry; daughters, Carolyn, Sandra (Bob), Connie; brother, Dean; grandchildren, Jeff, Bonnie (Randy), Jeremy, great-grand children Shyann, Andrew, Nathan, and two grand dogs Chevy and Jessie.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma; his father, Robert; and his siblings, Harold, Don, and Roy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu or Polidori House in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
