David Arthur Richens, Sr., 84, of Lake Havasu City passed away, February 7, 2015 at his home. David was born May 4th, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Charles and Norma Richens.
David is survived by brothers, Vernon & Edward. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Page.
David graduated from Haverford High School then served in the Navy as an electrician, and cruised the Mediterranean on the U.S.S Ruchamkin. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in 1954. He then moved to California and married Jacqueline Rose Heilman on July 14, 1956 at St. Bernard Church in Bellflower. Shortly thereafter, David and Jackie settled in Whittier where they raised their six children. David was the service manager at Ray's Auto Electric in La Habra for 35 years and a long time member of the La Habra Lion's Club. His family spent their vacation time camping and boating on Lake Shasta and Lake Havasu with their many good friends. In 1996, David and Jackie retired and moved to Lake Havasu permanently. He spent his retirement playing golf and volunteering with Anglers United.
He was a true family man and will be missed by his wife of 58 years and his six children; Susan King (Mike), David Jr. (Kris), Dennis (Ariane), Caroline Nieto (Nick), Dean (Christine), Deron (Lisa); 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his loyal Jack Russell terrier, Lucy.
