Alice Fairlene Forsyth-Arends Lindstrom born October 20th 1922 died March 13, 2015. Alice was a descendent of the Scotland Forsyth Clan. Her grandfather Robert Smith came to the United States when he was two years old. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She was born to parents Lamont Ripley Forsyth and Jessie Alive Torrens-Forsyth of Olney, Illinois. Alice was born in Wheaton, Illinois on October 20th 1922. She had three siblings Robert Forsyth(deceased), Joy Forsyth-Davison, and Lamont B. Forsyth. Her Mom and Dad moved to Olney, Illinois when she was 4 years old. She graduated from O.T.H.S. in 1941, and went to Bradley Polytechnic Institute in Peoria, Illinois. She married James L. Arends on October 4th, 1946 in East Saint Lewis, Illinois. They had two daughters Jessie Alice Arends-Munz and Forsythia Ann Arends-Keller. Her married life took her to many places in North Dakota and Colorado. Her husband James worked in the oil fields. She was always ready to take her family to the next oil site. They moved to DeKalb, Illinois in 1961 but Alice always called Olney, Illinois her home town. In DeKalb she worked at M.F. Malones as a bookkeeper for about 25 years. After Malone's closed she was a Sorority Mother at Northern Illinois University about 3 years. She then went to work at K-Mart until she retired. She was a Sojourner of the order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She held the position of Worthy High Priestess for 3 years. Kitting, reading and traveling were her hobbies, and she loved great jazz. She spent her eightieth birthday in Scotland traveling with her daughter Forsythia. The last two and a half years of her life were spent in Kingman, AZ under the care of her daughter Forsythia and her son-in-law Robert. Alice had 4 grandchildren Timothy Munz and his wife Dana, Tracie Munz-Peteyka-Maillet, Mike and Agnes Keller, John and Sue Alice Keller. She had 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. As per her request cremation with incur at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Kingman, AZ. May she rest in peace, she will be greatly missed by all.
