Obituary of Hazel Loree Snyder
Please share a memory of Hazel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hazel Loree Snyder, 89, passed away March 29 in Lake Havasu City. Hazel was born in 1925 in Michigan. She was the middle child of 16 children. In 1943 she married Donald Snyder. They lived in Michigan until they moved to Lake Havasu City in 1971.
Hazel loved to sew and craft, always coming up with creative things. But her most favorite thing was the dancing she did with Don. They were dance instructors in Lake Havasu for many years, teaching many people the art of round dancing and ballroom dancing. She and Don would frequent the Elks Lodge several times a week to dance and listen to their favorite artists. Hazel loved her family, always playing games with her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren. When it came to them she was a child at heart. Hazel was also a member of the Lake Havasu Center for Spiritual Living.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Don of 71 years; three daughters, Donna (Ron) Buckenberger of Whitehall, Michigan, Dianne (Alan) Heppner of Lake Havasu City, and Betty (Larry) Locatis of Lake Havasu City. She was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, Donald, Sharon, Nicole, Justin, Dion, Joshua, and Claire; 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her 15 brothers and sisters, and a great-grandson. What a grand family reunion she is having!
Hazel will be greatly missed by family and friends. As per her wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Havasu.
