Raymond Carl Specht, Jr. passed away on Sunday May 5, 2013 at his residence in Lake Havasu City with his family at his side. Ray was born on February 28, 1944 in Inglewood, CA to Raymond and Thelma (Brown) Specht Sr.
Following graduation from El Segundo High School , Ray entered the United States Army and served for two years. One of those years was spent in Vietnam. Ray was honorably discharged on May 23, 1967. Ray met the love of his life, Judy Ann Lockhart and they have been happily married for the last 44 years.
Ray worked for American Airlines for 17 years as a ramp supervisor. Ray and Judy moved to Parker, AZ in 1981 where became an independent distributor for Crystal Bottled Water for 13 years. In 1994 Ray became employed as a Detention Sergeant for La Paz County and stayed 13 years.
Ray and Judy loved boating on the river and made a couple trips to the lake. Ray loved to fix things around the house and loved watching sports on TV, especially baseball and basketball.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Judy, sons Matthew Wade Specht and his wife Virginia of Centennial, CO and Jason Carl Specht and his wife Lisa of Lake Havasu City; brother Randolph Specht of Houston, TX, grandchildren Joshua Young, Virginia Morales, Raul Morales, Santiago Morales, Sera Young, Valeria Morales, Mackenzie Specht, Jacob Young, Raylee Specht and Jason "JC" Specht Jr and great granddaughter Evelyn Morales. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 9, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 10, 2013 at 10:00 am at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
