Gary Charles Collins passed away at 70 years of age on May 1, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Edward Francis and Dorothy Elizabeth Collins on February 6, 1945 in Quincy, MA. He was wed to Linda Carol Hammond in September, 1973 in Weymouth, MA; they were married for 43 years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1978 at Northeastern University in Boston, MA where he was a member of the Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society. He served 3 years in the Marine Corps, completing his duty as Corporal and received the Good Conduct Medal and Meritorious Mast Award. Gary lived in Quincy, MA from 1945 to 1973; Brockton from 1973 to 1978; and in Lake Havasu City, AZ since 1978. He worked at Mass Electric Company; 2 years for Larry Antonnelli Construction in Quincy, MA; 6 years as a bookkeeper at the Sand's Resort in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Gary was a member of the Elks Lodge; he enjoyed reading, computers, and watching spiritual DVD's. He was a snappy dresser. He loved his family and friends; he was loved by all and will be missed greatly. Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Carol Collins of Lake Havasu City, AZ; step-son, James Stockbridge of Orlando, FL; son-in-law, George Hall of Shingletown, CA; step-daughter, Adelle Stockbridge Hall of Shingletown, CA; brother, John Collins of Quincy, MA; and 4 grandchildren, Aislinn, Sadie, Marissa and Samuel Hall of Shingletown, CA. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Francis and Dorothy Elizabeth Collins; and his brother, Edward. A memorial service will be held at Abundant Grace Church on May 8th at 1:00 PM. Donations can be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice in lieu of flowers. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
